Phase 1: M-Engineering is currently serving as the Criteria Engineer for a Design-Build project to update new fiber backbones at six (6) locations: Grafton Correctional, Mansfield Correctional, Ohio Reformatory for Women, Lorain Correctional, Lebanon Correctional and Franklin Medical Center. Construction started in September 2020 and was completed in 2023.

Phase 2: STW Fiber Phase 2 involved providing the criteria design to install a new 10G multimode and 10G single mode fiberoptic backbone system at 3 ODRC campuses, with the option to include an additional 17 ODRC campuses.  The design called out new fiber cabling, new pathway design where needed and termination equipment.

Also included in this design was remediation of existing MDF/IDF rack locations to allow for installation of new network switches and new rack mounted UPS’s.  The remediation was evaluated on a rack by rack basis, and included evaluating existing MDF/IDF rack locations, new IT racks where required for new switch installations, new modular patch panels, re-termination of existing copper horizontal cabling on new patch panels, replacement of existing patch cabling to allow for a more orderly installation, rearrangement of existing rack components as needed for new equipment, and extension of existing wall terminations to rack locations.
